Megan's Quote

Stephanie Morillo, Media Coordinator:

Stephanie is a classically trained vocalist with a voracious appetite for media and technology, an obsession that began at age 12 when she created her first web site. At age 13, she watched MSNBC's War in Kosovo coverage for one week straight and from then on out she decided she needed to know what was going on in the world.

Stephanie was awarded a Posse Foundation Full Tuition Leadership Scholarship to Lafayette College in Easton, Pennsylvania where she graduated with a BA in Creative Media and Social Justice. During her Lafayette career, Stephanie interned at the Metropolitan Opera Guild’s Education department, DK Publishing, Inc., and the Logo Network. She first joined the DG + Co. team in the Fall of 2008 as an intern.

Stephanie was awarded a Fulbright English Teaching Assistantship to Malaysia where she taught English at SMK Padang Midin, a government secondary school in the coastal town of Kuala Terengganu. In the summer of 2009, Douglas Gould and Company donated over 32 books to "Stephanie’s English Corner", an English-language books and resource section at SMK Padang Midin's school library. Upon finishing her Fulbright, Stephanie moved to Kuala Lumpur where she interned and contributed to Southeast Asia's top regional music magazine, Junk Magazine, and other blogs from around the world on topics ranging from travel, music, and social enterprise. She also worked as an education advisor at the Malaysian-American Commission for Educational Exchange.

Now back in America, the DG + Co. team have once again welcomed Stephanie back into the fold, this time as a media coordinator. Stephanie loves to travel, learn languages, and post song covers on YouTube as a way to keep herself young.

"In strategic communications, as with non-profit work, there is no space for a 'cult of personality' to develop. Everyone must work together; ultimately, 'the greater good' is more important than any individual's agenda. I enjoy being in an environment where I have the opportunity to work alongside seasoned professionals who are knowledgeable not only about communications but what it takes to change the world."
